About Us

OUR STORY

SIRA was born from a deep concern for the many Latinos embracing Islam without the support they need to thrive in their new faith. We witnessed how, without proper guidance and community, many new Muslims were left feeling isolated and uncertain, leading some to drift away from Islam as quickly as they had entered it. Recognizing this, we knew that an organization was needed—one that would inspire, embrace, and educate new Muslims in the Spanish-speaking world, ensuring they have the tools and community to stay connected and grow in their faith.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Founding Vision

SIRA was founded with a clear and compassionate vision: to create a world where every new Muslim in the Spanish-speaking community feels supported, connected, and empowered in their faith. We envisioned an organization that would not only provide guidance and education but also build a strong, inclusive community that spans borders and bridges cultural divides.
Our goal was to address the unique challenges faced by Latino Muslims, ensuring they have access to the resources, mentorship, and community they need to grow and flourish in Islam. We sought to inspire, embrace, and educate through meaningful programs, activities, and seminars.
At the heart of our vision is the belief that by supporting one another, we can create a unified, thriving global ummah that reflects the true spirit of Islam—one of compassion, knowledge, and brotherhood.

Our Impact

Since its founding, SIRA has made a significant impact on the lives of new Muslims across the USA and Latin America. Through our dedicated efforts, we have inspired countless individuals to strengthen their faith, embrace their new identity, and connect with a supportive community that spans borders.

Current Projects

Our current projects at SIRA include a support group for educating and mentoring both Muslims and non-Muslims, organizing interfaith events, hosting seminars and conferences, producing Islamic videos, sponsoring meals, New Muslim starting kits, and planning an Umrah trip to further spiritual growth.
